The reality behind Fatima’s (a.s.) book (Mus’haf)
The Doyenne of the Women of the World, Fatima Az-Zahraa (a.s.), was raised in the house of the Prophet (p), in which the revelation descended, which paved the way for her to be the first female student in the school of Muhammad (p.), as she embraced Islam with all its teachings, concepts, and laws. Ali (a.s.), too, was the first male student in this school.

Islamic principles in Az-Zahra's (a.s.) speech
We ought to deduce several lessons from Az-Zahra’ (a.s.)’s teachings, speeches, and preaches. We would like to highlight a number of her lessons that we ought to master so that our loyalty to her be honest and our love be truthful; for love is not merely a heart beat or an overwhelming sentiment; rather, it is also a sincere commitment and practice. The following are some of the lessons that outline the life of this marvelous and great woman.

Who is the first Imam?
It was Friday 13th of Rajab 30, Lady Fatima bint Asad, the wife of Abu Talib entered the precincts of the Kaaba and prayed to Allah saying “O my protector, ease my pain”. All of a sudden the wall of the Kaaba opened up and she, as if by some unseen force went inside the Kaaba and the wall closed.

Questions regarding Lady Fatima (a.s)
Fatima Al-Zahraa (a.s.) is one of those members of the household. She is a part of the Messenger (p), wife of Imam Ali (a.s.) and the mother of Imams Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein (a.s.). Thus, she constitutes a link between prophethood and Imamate, having inherited, in her character and linage, the traits of the Prophet (p), and having married Imam Ali (a.s.) and became a mother to the coming Imams. As mentioned by His Eminence, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra), in his book, The Infallible Fatimah (a.s.), a role model for men and women.

The immortal Sayyeda Zeinab (a.s.)
Historically, female leaders have been overshadowed in the mainstream Muslim world. In fact, Islam would not have survived all that time if it were not for the phenomenal female figures who propagated the message of Islam including Lady Khadijah, Lady Fatima (a.s.), and Lady Zeinab.

Distorting the image of the exalted role models
Our study of what history books narrate, in which real events and fabricated events are mixed, shows that when the emotional aspect was given the priority over the realistic aspect in describing the Husseini cause a distorted image of the symbols of Karbala’ was given, especially with regards to Imam al-Hussein (a.s.) and his sister Zeinab (a.s.).

The problem with exaggeration (ghuluw)
It has been reported that Imam Ali (a.s.) once said: “Two kinds of people will be damned on my account; an exaggeratedly loving person and a forsaking, hating person.”

Why Ali (a.s.)?
On the 18th of Thul-Hijja, during the Pilgrimage of Farewell that the Prophet (p) performed, along with his best companion, Imam Ali (a.s.), the Prophet (p) received a revelation from Gabriel: “O Messenger! Deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people” (5:67), at Ghadir Khum, which is a valley between Mecca and Al-Medina.
