The Juristic Office of the Institution of His Eminence, the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah (ra), issued a statement concerning the beginning of the month of Jamada 2, 1443H. Following is the text of the statement:
The new crescent (central conjunction) for the month of Jamada 2, 1443H will be born on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at: 18:33 (GMT) that is 20:33, Beirut time.

As noticed in the picture above: on Sunday evening, the crescent can be sighted with the armed eye in regions of the world we do not share a part of the night with. In addition, it is also possible to sight it easily with the naked eye on Monday evening in the two Americas and most of the regions of Africa, as well as with the naked eye in Europe and Asia, provided the weather is clear and the viewer is experienced. Thus, Monday the 3rd of January , 2022 is the 30th day of Jamada 1, and Tuesday January 4, 2022 is the first day of Jamada 2, according to the jurisprudential opinion of His Eminence, the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra) who deems it enough to sight the crescent, whether by the naked eye or by the aid of telescopes, in any region with which we share a part of the night, or after the passing of 30 days of the previous month.
