Fadlullah calls for a historic Sunni – Shiite gathering to protect Jerusalem and the Palestinian people |
His Eminence, the Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, saw that the decision of widening the scope of the Zionist colonial expansion is actually an American decision before being an Israeli one… He also pointed out that the American President who is bragging that the Congress has passed his project on health care reform is aware that he has granted the Americans working for the Jewish Lobby what they had asked for, in advance, confirming that the Israeli America and the American Israel do not attach any importance to the coming Arab Summit, deeming its "ready-made" closing statement not worth even of the ink it is written with. He also warned that the scheme is to rally against Iran and place the Arabs in the face of the Persians, tinting such confrontation with sectarian sensitivities that are meant to keep the Islamic arena preoccupied so as to relieve the enemy… Moreover, he called on the religious authorities, in general, and especially the Sunni and Shiite ones for a conclusive historic meeting dedicated solely for discussing the cause of Jerusalem.
His Eminence issued a statement on the recent American – Israeli movement. Following is the text of the statement:
The last visit of the enemy's Prime Minister to Washington, which was jammed with official meetings with American officials, as well as the warm welcome of the American Administration demonstrated that the Jewish occupiers have their say, not only in occupied Palestine, but also at the heart of the White House that appeared like a Zionist settlement haunted by the colonial Israeli mentality. Such mentality would give Israel the reign over the decisions of the Administration, and it would mock the slogan of change that the American President has adopted during his electoral tours and in the speeches he delivered before the Muslim and Arab crowds in Istanbul and Cairo.
Perhaps one of the most grievous mistakes that the Arabs have committed lately, at the political level, and which led them to make further concessions and remain on the course of negotiations and give the enemy a new margin of four months… is because they thought that the decision to widen the scope of colonial expansion is merely an Israeli one. Unfortunately, they missed that such a decision is American in the first place, and that the American Administration has strived, since the beginning, to give the enemy a big margin for going forth with its colonial expansion under various titles, such as "the normal growth of settlements," yet they said to the Zionist officials: All you have to do is not to embarrass us…however, even that was in vain.
Moreover, the American President who is bragging that the Congress has passed his project on health care reform is aware that he has granted the Americans working for the Jewish Lobby what they had asked for, in advance, especially concerning the enemy's political, security, and military terms. Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State expressed, at the AIPAC Conference, her concern over the enemy's entity, claiming that the technological and demographic ongoing changes are jeopardizing it, and emphasizing that the American commitment to Israel's is "rock solid".
On another level, the Israeli America and the American Israel do not attach any importance to the coming Arab Summit, for they are actually aiming for what is beyond its "ready-made" closing statement that they deem, just as the other previous statements, not worth even of the ink it was written with, even if the new statement includes a new Arab concession guised by the form of a new initiative. What the enemy is actually planning for along with the American Administration is to drive the Arab presidents and kings to a whole new position and battle whose political, media and economic features are crystallizing. The ultimate aim is an internationally awaited battle against the Islamic Republic of Iran; one in which the Arab regimes would constitute a main party, and in which they are meant to line with America and Israel against Iran, so that the issue would not merely be of a western and Zionist aspect, but rather it would take a different turn by placing the Arabs in the face of the Persians, tinting such confrontation with sectarian sensitivities that are meant to keep the Islamic arena preoccupied with marginal battles and aggravating problems. Actually, this is done for the sake of relieving the enemy and enabling it, once again, to talk about a qualitative superiority it has attained by means of cooperation and coordination with the Americans, to the detriment of the opposition positions and the resistance factions.
We warn the Arab regimes that are listening to the American advices that the policy of silencing their peoples is not effective anymore and that confiscating the peoples' freedom and will by means of emergency laws and intelligence agencies' pressures will not benefit them in the coming phase. Moreover, if they continue to belittle their peoples and beseech the American Administration, there will be devastating results at all levels. It must be noted that putting the stakes on the collapse of Jerusalem and the Holy Aqsa is a losing bet, for the nation, even if it suffered for a certain period of time from anaesthetizing pressures, it will rise once again in a way that will have a decisive impact at the level of the entire Arab and Islamic reality.
We also call on the religious authorities, in general, and especially the Islamic ones, to take the first step and seek to hold a general unifying meeting that joins the Sunnis and Shiites together in a conclusive historic meeting dedicated solely for discussing the cause of Jerusalem. Actually, this could be the means to expose the regimes, on the one hand, and toughen the determination of the peoples, on the other hand, all for the sake of finding Islamic practical mechanisms that aim to support the Palestinian people and deter the Jewish usurpers from threatening and usurping the other sacred positions, especially in the Holy Aqsa.
It is about time to undertake the following three essential tasks:
1- The Arab and Islamic regimes ought to abandon the policy of offering concessions and the mentality of beseeching. Moreover, they ought to pursue the policy of dignity and freedom that is based on the concept of liberating all the positions of the nation from any form of occupation, the first of which the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.
2- Mobilizing the nation's decisive elements of scientific and technological strength.
3- The peoples ought to realize that this reality which is exerting pressures on the nation's existence and destiny will not change unless they embark on confronting all what the nation is subjected to, keeping in mind that the acts of holding demonstrations and expressing solidarity for the sake of the Palestinian people are the least one could do to shoulder his legal and humanitarian responsibility.
