Fadlullah's communiqué regarding the recent position of the UK Government which classified the Resistance in Lebanon as a terrorist movement
Occupation is the highest form of terrorism, while the Resistance is a civilized movement based on the values of right and justice |
Commenting on the recent position of the UK Government which classified the Resistance in Lebanon as a terrorist movement, Sayyed Fadlullah issued a statement accusing such positions as emerging from arrogant perspectives which try to impose the Western Administration's values and attitudes.
He said:
The latest British approach to the issue of terrorism which added the Resistance in Lebanon to the list of terrorist organisations is a product of the arrogant mentality that puts the West in the position of issuing ready-made rulings on our peoples and forces of liberation. It is trying by this to impose its values and political attitudes on the people in a barbaric manner using the same terrorist methods of the extremists; namely: "to cancel the other and refuse to recognize him".
We had expected the British Government to take bold steps in changing radically its policies in the Arab and Muslim world in view of the great tragedies the Palestinian people were subjected to as a result of the colonial British complicity with the Jews, which led to dispersing the Palestinians around the world and gathering the Jews in Palestine. There are also the tragedies of the Iraqis that were the result of Blair's administration complicity with that of Bush to invade Iraq under the pretence of a big lie called weapons of mass destruction.
Occupation represents the highest form of terrorism and the most dangerous one. Resistance against this occupation is, on the other hand, a civilized movement based on the values of right, justice and dignity.
But it seems that Britain, the US partner is occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, does not wish to acknowledge the fact that its arrogant polices has constituted, at times, the basis of state terror that is practiced by the occupation, and taking negative stands against all those who clash with its arrogant policies in the region at others.
The policy of ready- made rulings suggests impotence and civilizational failure, since the Western administrations resort to some forms of slander to compensate for their failure to convince the nations that they are the saviours and the champion of humanistic and civilizational values. These policies continue to prove that these administrations are still adopting arrogant and colonial policies whose interests crashe all the values of civilisation, morals and humanity.
