Each year  the Imamain Hassanian Mosque like all Islamic Shiite centers  all over the world, holds the Ashoura ceremonies, in which the details of the battle Imam Hussein fought for the cause of Islam and justice are remembered.

This year, the meetings began on Tuesday the first of Muharram 1424\March 4, 2003.

Thousand of mourners attended the meeting which was culminated by the speech given by The Religious Authority H.E Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, in which he talked about the meanings and the values we learn from the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his family and small group of followers. He also touched upon the current challenges the nation faces, especially the issues of Iraq and Palestine , as well the arrogant offensive in general. He called for national  and Islamic unity and steadfastness, and he asked the believers to follow the model of Imam Hussein.
