Receiving the Iranian Ambassador,
Fadlullah: Iran is not a party in the internal Lebanese affairs

The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received Muhammad Rida Chebani, the Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, and discussed with him the general situations in Lebanon and the region.

The discussion focused on of the Security Council Resolution to impose sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program. His Eminence stressed that the so-called “International Legitimacy” adopts double standards through seeking to deprive Iran from one of its legal rights that is to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes and through not commenting either on the explicit Israeli declaration that it owns nuclear weapons or on the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

His Eminence affirmed that Iran is not a party in the internal Lebanese crisis, although it represents a true party in the nation’s issues through its standing against the American and Israeli occupations. Iran has always sought to affirm the nation’s right to be free and independent and to confront the attempts to usurp the nation’s resources and wealth. He also called upon the Lebanese officials not to offend Iran and not to plunge its name or that of other’s in the internal Lebanese affairs. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the Iranian-Saudi relations and the Iranian-Egyptian relations that will positively reflect on the entire nation, especially Lebanon.

Following the talks, the Iranian Ambassador said:

“We have the honor to visit His Eminence, and it was a precious occasion that enabled us to discuss with him the different political and regional developments. We highly appreciate the Sayyed’s points of view, since they are wise, constructive and take into consideration the political developments of Lebanon, the region and the entire world.

He added: “We explained to His Eminence the latest developments regarding the Iranian peaceful nuclear program. In addition, we clarified the official Iranian stand towards this program.
