The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, emphasized the need that everyone who works for the Palestinian cause should keep in mind that Palestine is the major cause that is nonnegotiable despite all pressures or problems they face inside Palestine or outside it.

He warned from a vicious scheme that aims at preoccupying the Palestinian fronts with security, social and political problems, so that they will no longer be able to remember their major cause.

His Eminence said to the league of Palestine Muslim scholars that any effort that views the Palestinian cause as a strategic one that has to do with the movement of Arabs and Muslims is a blessed one. Therefore, all efforts that aim at ending internal strife are of good intentions, including the initiative to find a solution for the problem in Nahr el-Barid which the Sayyed expressed his appreciation of.

The head of the League, Sheikh Dawood Mustapha, explained that the initiative the league launched was based on the Lebanese demands, but it also took into consideration the interests of the people of Nahr el-Barid. He also pointed out that there are some parties who have hindered their efforts and sought to violate the ceasefire.

Sheikh Mustapha called on all parties to solve the conflict by political means and not military ones, considering that a military solution threatens the Barid camp and the Palestinians, who live in it, while the political solution is the only means that could achieve what everyone wants to Lebanon and its army… as well as the refugees who ought to return to the camp and rebuild it.
