His Eminence received the delegation of the National Gathering for Sovereignty, headed by Dr. Habib Az-Zoughbi. The discussion focused on the developments and the current political crisis in Lebanon. In the meeting, The Sayyed affirmed that the basis of the Lebanese problem lies in the sectarian system that allows the foreign countries to interfere in the Lebanese domestic affairs. He also emphasized the necessity of moving from this system to a system of citizenry that preserves the Lebanese rights, regardless of their sectarian origins.

E. also warned against the sectarian strife that some are trying to stir up, calling on all the religious leaders to hold their responsibility, not to be a party in the political conflict, preserve the unity of rank and avoid the instigating discourse that serves only the enemies of Lebanon and the nation.
