The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received H. Ex. Muhammad Rida Shibani, the Iranian Ambassador to Beirut and discussed with him all the developments in the region, especially the Iranian nuclear program and the latest Security Council Resolution to impose sanctions against Iran.

With respect to the Iranian envoy’s visit to Saudi Arabia, Fadlullah emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationships between all the Islamic countries, especially Iran and its neighbors, in an effort to preserve the region’s security, stability and development.

The meeting also focused on the situation in Lebanon and Iraq and the attempts that are lunched to stir up sectarian strife. Besides, Fadlullah emphasized the importance of keeping the discourse in the political context and avoid tensioning the discourse and plunging the Islamic region into a strife that destroys everything.
