During his meeting with Muhammad Rida Chebani, the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, saluted the initiatives of the Iranian Islamic Republic and the Saudi Arabia Kingdom which aims at spreading the spirit of harmony and unity and patching up the split in both the Arab and the Muslim regions, in addition to their good will initiative to put an end to the Lebanese crisis and bring closer the points of view of the various Lebanese parties.

His Eminence emphasized the importance of the role that the Muslim and Arab countries are playing on the regional level far away from the circles that the big powers have drawn to prevent them from performing their obligations towards the Arab and Islamic issues.

H.E. also confirmed that the current developments have proved that the Arab and Muslim countries are able to make breakthroughs in the lines that were drawn by more than one axis, especially that the strife that America wants to spread extends to reach these countries and threatens their internal unity, as well as threatening the entire Muslim world.

In addition, Fadlullah focused on supporting all efforts that seek to unify the Sunni and Shiite Muslims on the basis of strengthening the Islamic unity and confronting the nation's enemies and their supporters, especially those who are working on different levels to instigate the sectarian strife in the nation and to promote their own interests as well as the American and Israeli interests.

On his part, the Iranian Ambassador affirmed that his country, with the cooperation of Saudi Arabia and the concerned parties, will persist in its initiative for the sake of helping the Lebanese solving their current crisis. He also emphasized the importance of the Iranian – Saudi initiative on the level of the entire region, since it helps in strengthening the unity of Muslims, preserving their issues and protecting their countries from the ambitions and greediness of the arrogant countries.

The discussion also focused on the latest developments in the region, the prospects of the dialogue that was held in Baghdad for solving the Iraqi issue, and the Iranian nuclear project as well as the situation of the occupied Palestine. In this respect, both parties stressed on supporting all efforts that seek to unify the internal Palestinian rank and support the Palestinian steadfastness against the Israeli occupation.
