The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah received,
the Deputy Secretary General "Al-Jamaa' Al-Islamia", accompanied by his
son Ameen. The meeting focused on many Islamic issues and discussed the
measures that help in promoting the Islamic unity and build confidence
among the Islamic parties and movements whose points of view differ
regarding many issues.
The meeting also touched on the Palestinian situation and the measures
that the Islamic movements and Muslim religious scholars should take in
order to support the Palestinian people in confronting the continuing
Israeli aggression against them. Both parties also discussed the measures
that should be taken in order to relieve the sufferance of the
Palestinians in Lebanon, especially those who left Nahr Al-Barid camp and
it was emphasized that there should be a movement on different levels in
order to help them return to their homes as soon as possible.
The meeting also discussed the effects of the developments in the
region, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan on the General
Islamic environment. It was also emphasized that the Islamic movements
should hold their responsibilities in defending Islam and presenting its
brilliant image in front of the entire world, they should also work on
confronting the sectarian strife that the American Administration is
seeking to instigate in Iraq and other countries.
Following the meeting, Ibrahim Al-Masri said: "We have the honour to
visit Sayyed Fadlullah and we congratulated His Eminence on the occasion
of the advent of the Ramadan Month. We also discussed with him the
Lebanese as well as the General Islamic issues and emphasized the
importance of preserving the unity of Muslims in confronting all what is
planned against them on the international level, starting from Lebanon
that represents a model for the Islamic unity relying on what His
Eminence has recently suggested and what he always stress on that the
Islamic front in Lebanon must constitute a model for the Islamic unity on
the international Level.
