Receiving a
delegation of the Islamic Scholars Gathering, H. E. Sayyed Fadlullah
warned against presenting the political issues in a sectarian context
The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein
Fadlullah, received a delegation of the Islamic Scholars Gathering,
headed by its chairman Sheik Ahmad Az-Zein, who said: “We should always
visit Your Eminence not only to come and ask about your health, but also
to follow the path of the Islamic unity that you represent its model…” .
He added: “We view you as a Religious Authority and a model that we
follow in our policy and movements. This is because we see that you
represent a great Islamic model who calls for a unifying and united Islam
and persists in working for the sake of uniting Islam, ignoring the
trivial differences and embracing those who work in the united Islamic
path. Hence, you have always supported the Islamic Scholars Gathering and
the dedicated Resistance. We promise you that we will persevere in the
path of Islamic unity and overcome all the traps that are planted to
hinder our unity. And we affirm that all Muslim sects are paths that
follow the same jurisprudential path.
Sayyed Fadlullhah focused on the importance of the Gathering’s role and
stated that it is necessary to maintain this experiment and widen its
movement to make it spread all around the Islamic world in order to face
all the plots that try to divide Muslims.
Moreover, His Eminence said that all Muslims, especially scholars, should
take initiatives in order to reveal the truth and let all people know
that the issues raised are political and not sectarian ones and that
those who are trying to mix up the political issues with the sectarian
ones are serving the nation’s enemies.
Besides, he indicated that there are two political parties in the region.
Each of them compromises more than one sect, thus; we have to clarify
this fact in order to separate the political issues from the sectarian
ones. In addition, he stressed the importance of removing the convulsive
discourse from the political and sectarian differences in order not to
allow others to take us to religious or sectarian battles.
