The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received, the Former MP Nasib Lahoud, accompanied by Dr. Antoine Haddad and Mr. Kassim Kassir, and discussed with them the internal developments and the possible solutions for the Lebanese crisis. On this occasion, Sayyed Fadlullah emphasized that it is the responsibility of all parties to find a realistic mechanism for communication between rival parties to solve the internal deadlock.

Following the meeting, Lahoud said:

"I had the honor to visit His Eminence Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah and as usual, we took the opportunity to discuss with him the big problems that Lebanon and the entire nation are facing. And as we know, His Eminence always deals with the issues on a level of a high comprehensive and moral character.

The Sayyed also received the resigned Minister, Fawzi Salloukh, and discussed with him the general situation in Lebanon and the region. The meeting focused on the ongoing communications on various levels to resolve the internal issues.

His Eminence also received Shahid Al-Jabiri, an Iraqi MP and discussed with him the situation in Iraq in the aftermath of the aggression against the Shrine of the Imamain Al-Askariyayn, in addition to discussing the adequate means for unifying the Iraqis after the strife has entered a new stage through the attempts of the American occupation that aim at making the situation in Iraq more complicated.
