The Religious Authority, H.E. Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah received Naim Kasim and discussed with him the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

The meeting touched on the repercussions of the latest political and electoral developments in Lebanon as well as the foreign interventions and especially the American interventions, in the details of the Lebanese politics, which hinder any Lebanese reconciliation, and endanger the future of Lebanon.

The meeting emphasized the need that all Lebanese should be aware of the threat such interventions represent on their unity, in addition to being a continuous violation of diplomatic norms and traditions, not to mention the legal aspects.

Such interventions seek to maintain Lebanon as a front that the US uses to fight its regional wars. Consequently, it does not let anyone take advantage of the political and electoral events to open the door for a serious dialogue that could end the political problem in the country. On the contrary, it aims at complicating these relations and preventing reaching any preliminary agreements that could facilitate the holding of the coming elections.

The meeting also stressed the need to put an end to the sectarian discourse that escalated with the latest by – elections, being one of the barriers that hinder dialogue, in addition to being a breach with all the traditions that have preserved the Lebanese entity.

The meeting touched on the regional developments, in view of the American pressures on several Arab states to distort internal Arab relations and besiege the countries that oppose US policies and push them towards accepting American and Israeli conditions.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian people, and holding all parties responsible for resuming internal Palestinian dialogue, especially that the internal Palestinian complications could aggravate the political and social Palestinian conditions, and could also have a negative impact on the entire Muslim and Arab situation.
