The Religious Authority, Sayyed Fadlullah, received former MP Nasib
Lahoud, accompanied by Dr. Antoine Haddad, and discussed with them the
recent developments in Lebanon and the Middle East.
The meeting touched on the internal Lebanese issues and the ongoing
Lebanese crisis, in addition to its effects on the coming presidential
elections. It was emphasized that all concerned parties should uphold the
complete responsibility in seeking to put an end for this crisis and
these complicated and tense situations that Lebanon is facing amidst this
ongoing deadlock whose dangerous consequences will have negative effects
on the political, economic and social levels.
It was emphasized that it is important to try to facilitate the
political and dialogue initiative that will help in finding realistic
solutions for the deadlock in which no party will fail and the country
will gain its future, security and destiny.
The discussion also focused on the presidential elections, and it was
emphasized that it is important to hold dialogue meetings that bring
together all main parties in the country, whether in an announced or non
announced manner, in which the main issues that the rival factions have
disputed and argued about would be raised so that the parties can agree
on the common factors that might facilitate the presidential elections
through examining the political programs of the candidates. It was also
stressed that every official should play his role in seeking to make the
political discourse more polite and prevent anyone who tries to hinder
reaching a solution that prevents the country from any political and
security chaos.
