The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received an Iraqi delegation headed by ambassador, Sadeq Al-Rukabi, the political Advisor of Prime Minister Noor Al-Maliki, and discussed with him the recent developments in Iraq in addition to the sufferance of the Iraqi people due to occupation and Takfiri movements. The meeting also touched on the relationships between Iraq and its neighboring countries and the means to come to an agreement that would help in preserving the political and security situation in Iraq.

During the meeting, the Sayyed emphasized that it is important for the official Iraqi authorities to provide all the suitable atmospheres that aim at uniting the Iraqis in confronting all the attempts of instigating strife and dividing the sects. Such attempts are being made by more than one internal and external party and are being encouraged by occupation in a direct and indirect ways.

Sayyed Fadlullah also stressed the importance of seizing any opportunity for reviving the popular and tribal meetings that are capable of besieging the sectarian and confessional tensions that are being directed by Takfiri groups. H.E added that it is necessary to work on all levels to force the occupier out of Iraq as a preliminary step toward establishing a free and independent Iraq. That is because the independence, unity and continuity of Iraq depend on forcing the occupier out.

In addition, Fadlullah called upon the Iraqis to take firm stands that respond to the American officials who talk openly about their desires to stay for a long time in Iraq.
