The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received the resigned MP, Mohammad Fneish, and discussed with him the recent developments in Lebanon and the Middle East.

The meeting touched on the international stands regarding the Lebanese crisis and the open interventions in the details of this crisis, in addition to the barriers that prevent the Lebanese parties from reaching solutions that can prevent the country from being plunged into chaos that will accompany the holding of the presidential elections.

The most critical interventions are the American interventions especially that the American Ambassador defines the political issues that he considers intractable, as if he is a Lebanese top official exercising his authority on all the Lebanese people.

During the meeting, Sayyed Fadlullah emphasized that the Lebanese officials should take an initiative to protect the public national positions and not to found their stands on the basis of their own obsessions that focus on preserving their own positions, since that may complicate the situation and drive the country into uncontrollable chaos.

His Eminence also sent a telegram to Sayyed Ali Khaminei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, expressing condolences for the death of Ayatollah Mashkini, a member of the Assembly of Experts.
