Sayyed Fadlullah :The American Administration encourages sectarian strife in Iraq

The Religious Authority , Ayatullah Al Ozma Sayyed M. H. Fadlullah warned from the attempts of the American Administration to encourage sectarian strife in Iraq, under the slogan of constructive anarchy. The Sayyed pointed out that the West is adopting double standards: it talks about the freedom of speech, but it tries those who are sceptical regarding the number of those killed in the Holocaust, and permits the publishing of insults of Islam at the same time.

The Sayyed stressed that any aggression against places of worship and Muslim mosques is a major crime. He also rejected any distinction between Shiite and Sunni's Mosque, since all mosques are for God.

The Sayyed also prohibited any aggression against non-Muslims calling c on Iraqis to preserve their unity.

The Sayyed saw that there is an intersection between what the apostates and the Occupation are doing.

These statements were made in a T.V. dialogue with Sayyed Fadlullah in which he said:

What the American President has declared that he is seeking to create constructive anarchy has become a reality, as the occupation is encouraging sectarian strife, and is not confronting those who kill the Iraqis in cold blood.

The Sayyed added: I believe that this constitutes a part of the American occupation plan that conforms with the plans of those who accuse others of non belief, and the remnants of the tyrannical regime, because it crates an state of anarchy and madness, especially among the Shiite Muslims, since what happened might be the beginning and might extend to other Holy Shiite shrines in Najaf, Karbala and Kazimia.

I believe that this is a plan both the American and British occupation will benefit from, because it creates an excuse for them to stay in Iraq since the country is not stable. Thus, if they leave the country a civil war will break.

Moreover, this is what we noticed in the latest statements of the American ambassador who talked about the sectarian distribution of the cabinet portfolios. We condemn, of course, any sectarian move by any ministers but the Ambassador's statement that aimed to arise scepticism will destabilize the security condition in Iraq. At the same time, exploding the shrines of Imams Al-Hadi and Al-Askari' represents a move that aims to destabilize the inter-Islamic relations, following the realization of the Islamic unity, even if at the emotional level, that was accomplished in denouncing the insult represented by the pictures published in the West.

Asked if he does not separate between what is happening in Iraq and the insults against the Messenger (p) being parts of a plot that target Muslims, the Sayyed said:

I believe that the relationship is obvious, and it can be seen in the various statements that we hear, for although there are have been some statements that denounce the offending pictures, the same powers encourage the newspapers that published the pictures citing the freedom of expression. At the same time, the West is adopting double standards for it has punished a British historian just because he doubted that there is some exaggerations in the numbers of those who were killed in the holocaust .

As for the violent reactions to the attacks on the shrines of Imams Al-Hadi and Al-Askari, the Sayyed said:

We believe that the attacks on the mosques and the assassinations that targeted religious Sunni scholars constitute a very big Islamic crime. All religious authorities in Iraq, Iran and Lebanon have prohibited any attack on the mosques or religious scholars.

There is no such thing as a Sunni mosque and Shiite mosque. Mosques are God's houses where He is worshipped. Anyone who attacks any of them would be betraying God, the Messenger and Islam.

Therefore, as we denounce the attacks on the Holy Shrines, we also denounce any attack our any Muslim mosque and any Muslim religious scholar, as well as any Iraqi whether a civilian or a member of the army and the security forces.

Muslims' blood, money and honour are Haram (prohibited ) on other Muslims. This also applies to Christians who should not be attacked.

We have always called on our brothers and children in Iraq to preserve their Islamic unity, to build the new independent and sovereign Iraq, so that they would live peacefully with their neighbours on the basis of mutual respect and interests.

The Sayyed further explained that he believes that there is an evident intersection between the goals of the occupation and that of the apostates in Iraq, since what the latter is doing of killing innocent Iraqis, delays the withdrawal of the Americans, who are encouraging such acts, whether directly or indirectly.
