Fadlullah in a  fatwa on the atrocities in Morocco : such criminal acts are unlawful

Answering many enquiries, including several ones from Morocco itself, concerning the legal religious ruling regarding the recent operations in Morocco , which lead to the death of many innocent civilians the religious Authority H.E. Sayyed Muhammad(p.) Hussein Fadlullah  stated:

From the point of view of the ruling of Shariat (religious law) we believe that targeting civilians with such barbaric acts as well as destroying civilian institutions which leads to killing several men women and children, both Muslims and non-Muslims, without any justification as in the case of war or aggression is legally unlawful. It also falls in the category of deliberate murder and aggression against the innocent. Moreover, it distorts the image of Islam and Muslims giving the Arrogant the chance to interfere in their affairs and put its hands on their resources.

We vehemently condemn these acts and call upon the religious authorities to wage an awareness campaign against these methods that falsely claim to be religious, although religion has nothing to do with them.
