Sayyed Fadlullah advised the US Administration to adopt "Rational Diplomacy" and resume negotiations with Iran

The American presence in Iraq is an occupation that can be fought with all legitimate means

The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, issued a statement in which he indicated the failure of the American policy in the region. He said:

The US Administration has drawn for itself and for those within its orbit a political line founded on deceit. It has also pressurized the UN Security Council to make decisions pursuant with its national ambitions, even if that might lead to destroying countries completely and threatening the entire world peace.

We have seen how the American Administration had created lies in Iraq and accused it of possessing weapon of mass destruction (WMD), then it occupied it in order to control its economic wealth in an attempt to serve America's strategic interests after it had destroyed its infrastructure and used it as a laboratory for the experiments of violence, killing, terrorizing and even suggesting its partition… and now it is using the same manner of lying in overstating the Iranian nuclear peaceful project, claming that this project represents a threat to the entire world and might lead to a third world war.

We call on all people in Lebanon and the region to work on warding off the dangers posed by this liar and swindler administration and face it with all legitimate means.
We also consider that the American presence in Iraq as a dominant occupational power that is expropriating the national Iraqi decisions. Thus, confronting this occupation by military, security, political and popular resistance is considered as legitimate means and we want all those who resist this occupation to abide by the legitimate and moral framework in their confrontation and not to target the innocent citizens and civilians whether in a direct or indirect manner.

Everyone should know that the American repeated talk about the Iranian and Syrian intervention against the occupation forces in Iraq is considered an act of fleeing forward. Such allegations are also considered an attempt to present the American army as a legitimate political army that it is impermissible for anyone to resist.

This Administration has lost credibility even in the view of those who defend it on the international level and everyone knows that it does not resort to real facts to justify its sanctions on this or that country. Besides, the latest stand of the Director General of the International Agency for Nuclear Energy regarding this Administration and the Russian President's criticism to the US State Department's recent decision to impose sanctions against Iran and describing the American President Bush as the "Mad Man" who is holding in his hand a blade that he is waving with it in all directions, such stands and criticisms indicate the failure of the American policy in the region on political, economic and security levels.

We say to this Administration that is moving as a mad ox that it can not rule the world by regularly adopting policies of "intimidation" and "aggression" and that it must resume negotiations with Iran far away from discords in order to find solutions for the unsolved issues, especially in Iraq and Syria as well as on the level of the Iranian peaceful nuclear project….

We warn the American Administration from pursuing hellish objectives because that would spread bloody violence in other parts of the world. If this Administration is trying to promote complications in Lebanon's current crisis by pressuring the Lebanese in an attempt to serve its strategic interests, it will only reap more disappointment.
Therefore the US Administration and its allies must know that brutal military power does not have any open perspectives regardless of how savage it was. Hence the rational humanitarian diplomacy is what helps in finding realistic solutions for the big and small countries. It can also solve the problems between peoples, and bring closer the discordant positions. .
