Have the Arab leaders lost even the sensitivity of preserving their thrones?

Fadlullah: Targeting the nation's sacred symbols, heritage and land is due to the nation’s weakness and backwardness

The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, issued a communiqué regarding the attack of the world arrogance on Islam and Muslims. He said:

All attacks targeting the nation's sacred symbols, starting from offending the Prophet (p.) and continuously insulting him (p.), to the Pope's stands, to the digging near Al-Aqsa mosque, to the latest offences against the Prophet (p.) that was made by Hert Feldrez, the Dutch liberal politician who called for tearing half of the Quran… all these attacks would not have happened or spread out if the Arab and Muslim nations were not so weak and did not sink in this sea of backwardness in which all trivialities are being revived for the purpose of creating internal strife, while ignoring the nation’s big causes.

He added: Islam has been turned into a target for all those who are ready to attack it. Thus, all the adventures in the west started to assail Islam for the purpose of attracting more votes. Other campaigns against Islam and Muslims were lunched under the title of reducing the legal immigration or banning the illegal immigration and fighting terrorism. Besides, the last statements issued by Shimon Perez calling the west to be aware and cautious that Europe may be defeated by Muslims, were taken into consideration. Moreover, the racial campaign against Muslims in many of the European countries were lunched, at a time our officials are busy with meeting with Condoleezza Rice, the American Secretary of State, as well as listening to her exhortations.

This growing propaganda regarding Islam as a danger threatening the west and the Jews is being spread for the purpose of targeting Muslims in their doctrinal, religious, and intellectual heritage. It also represents a concealed call for spreading the occupation on the rest of the Muslim countries. Otherwise, what did Bernard Lewis, the American historian, mean when he said in the Jewish conference in Jerusalem that "Islam aims at wiping out the world central forces. Does not that reveal their call to mobilize their forces against Islam and Muslims, at a time we know that it is an American Zionist war in the name of an international war for eradicating Islam, its intellectual bases, sublime values and true concepts.

H.E. also said: There is a determined effort to present Islam as an enemy that threatens the west or the so called "the values of the western democracy". That is because the strategy of some administrations, especially the American administration, relies on creating a strategic enemy and installing in the American and other minds the nation that Islam is the enemy that should be feared. Consequently, this phenomenon would give these circles a growing legality to target Islam and justify their attack on Muslim countries and consequently occupying them.

He added: The great catastrophe lies in the fact that there are some parties in the nation that are stepping up their efforts to promote a Shiite or Sunni crescent. They also started a political and sectarian mobilization, while, ignoring those who are trying to destroy Islam and its concepts through their concerted attack in more than one place in the world, and through allying with the American Administration and world Zionism that always seek to deform Islam and justify attacking and occupying the Muslim countries.

I fear that most Muslims have lost the feeling of supporting and defending their religion, for they are afraid to lose their sectarian rituals and institution. Such Muslims are taking us to the years of backwardness in which the fatal sensitivities have deprived us of our immunity of internal unity and turned us into a fertile land for strives and into an easy target which the nations rush to attack, while we do not take a final decision to confront them.

I wonder: Why is all this Arab surrender and this submission to the American Secretary of State who calls them at times, as foreign ministers, and at other times as intelligence officials? Are they concerned about Palestine, or have they reached the highest levels of submission in which they became proud to implement the American project and directly work for its interests?

We are afraid that those Arabs have lost the sensitivity of preserving their thrones after the American Administration has used them in everything, and it is about to use them as a scapegoat in the last round of its endless hysterical adventure in the region.
