Sayyed Fadlullah offered his condolences for the death of Al-Askari

The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, issued an obituary in which he offered his condolences for the death of Ayatollah, Sayyed Murtada Al-Askari. His Eminence said:

We offer our condolences for the death of Ayatollah, Sayyed Murtada Al-Askari, that was a great loss to Knowledge, academic research, piety and devoutness. He was a model for intellectual and committed openness, the scientific precision that is far away from fanaticism, the noble Islamic morals ...

The departure of Sayyed Al-Askari (may Allah have mercy upon him,) represents a great loss for knowledge and scholars as well as for historic researches in our broad Islamic heritage. His departure also can not be compensated. We ask Allah, the Supreme, the Omnipotent to encompass him with His grace and put him in His Paradise among the Prophets, the trustful, and the martyrs, "and a goodly company are they" (4:69)
