Fadlallah s Communique on Resolution 1701:

The War America has led is meant to continue through UN Resolution 1701

The Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah warned that: “the devastating war that was led by the US Administration through the international cover it provided is meant to be continued through the UN Security Council resolution 1701. Such a plot could be achieved either by using it as a legal weapon that enables the enemy to achieve what it could not and what it will not achieve through war, or by the American and Israel interpretation to its articles. ”

He asserted that the Lebanese people, Resistance and state have failed an international conspiracy that meant at eliminating not only the resistance in Lebanon but also all the components of confrontation and steadfastness and the spirit of resistance in the Arab and Muslim region.

The Sayyed saw that the real balance of power on the battlefield, and which had demonstrated an actual victory for Lebanon as a result of the steadfastness of its resistance, people and state should draw the political course of the Lebanese state and people.

The Sayyed warned from the attempts of those whose intentions are ill to exploit the wounds of the Lebanese to create confusion or breaks in the national unity. This could undermine the great achievement Lebanon and the Resistance have accomplished. All Lebanese should preserve this victory for it is a victory for all of them and not for any part.

The Sayyed emphasized that the national concern for Lebanon’s independence and sovereignty should be demonstrated by a greater concern for the Resistance. He confirmed that the criteria of being patriotic should be based on all that enhances the Lebanese steadfastness in the face of the demonist alliance between Israel and America which the barbaric aggression had proved that it would do anything to destroy the country, and incite a strife between the sects.

The Sayyed urged all Lebanese to draw the lessons of the war, including the real face of the aggressive unjust American Administration. Such an image should be before their eyes when they try to assess the political situation in the coming stages, especially when it comes to relying on the US in rebuilding their state or fortifying it in the face of foreign projects.

He also called for turning Lebanon after the war into a construction site, as well as giving the economic and social conditions a priority over all political debates that do not serve the strengthening of the state of Lebanese steadfastness to provide Lebanon the strength it needs on the strategic level.
