In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The Lebanese problem
lies in the American and French support to Israel and the
international movement is hypocritical
Fadlullah: The foreign
countries may support Lebanon in money and words, but they can not
establish the Lebanese internal peace
The Religious
Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah issued a statement in the
beginning of the new year regarding the prospects of the current
Lebanese crisis. He said:
“This year may be one
of the most critical years in Lebanon and the region, since the region
has entered an interim stage that affected Lebanon. Besides, it does
not seem that there is going to be a high level dialogue between the
different axes. Accordingly, the impasse, taking into consideration
the interference of the super powers in the Lebanese crises, may
continue in Lebanon and the entire region. This interference appears
obviously through the strong role the American-French axis plays in
the Lebanese crisis.”
Sayyed Fadlullah
added: “Although we can not deny that there is a regional political
conflict that Lebanon is affected by, we believe that the problem is
not in the neighboring countries as the French President sees, but it
lies in the international pressures that are exerted on our small
country, especially by America and France that both aim at supporting
Israel. Thus, the Israeli war on Lebanon has gained an unprecedented
backing from America and Europe and its effects are still taking place
due to the international movement that plays the hypocrite when it
claims that it backs up the democratic experiment in Lebanon. This is
because the international movement aims only at satisfying Israel.
Therefore, we see that
the French insistence on riding the American train in Lebanon could
not serve either the French or Lebanese interests. Hence, what is
happening in reality is something different because if France wants to
regain its position in Lebanon through a comprehensive coordination
with the American Administration, it must know that America will
prevent it from playing an independent role, and it will keep it on
the margin of its policy in Lebanon as it is in the margin of its
policies in the entire region.
Hence, the
interference in the Lebanese crisis from time to time is just like
injecting the patient with sedatives or giving him more vitamins
without allowing him to have a surgical operation…. Therefore, the
Lebanese will remain drown in the swamp of the current crisis, in
accordance with an international decision to prolong this crisis. This
decision will be translated by Paris III, since the decision to take
solid moves to achieve progress in solving the political issues is not
made.
Consequently, the
foreign and Arab countries will continue to exhort the Lebanese during
the coming weeks, calling on them to hasten to solve their problems by
themselves. They are also pressing the Lebanese in order to set the
solution aside or prevent them from adopting a mechanism for solving
the crisis. This does not mean that the Lebanese people are not able
to solve their problems, but this requires the concerned parties to
take a brave decision. And at the same time, it also requires the
Arabs countries to learn from the bleeding wound in Iraq, which is
about to break through their backyards.
Lebanon can not be
built by joining an alliance with the foreign powers that are against
the nation, but rather when all the Lebanese are allied on minimum
common interests. This is because the conspiratorial foreign countries
may support Lebanon in money and words, but they can not establish the
internal peace, because they do not want Lebanon to live in peace.
They want it to be a follower in order to direct it according to their
interests in the region. They also want Lebanon not to disturb Israel
and to remain an unstable country and a front for pressurizing the
Arab and Islamic positions.”
In the end, Sayyed
Fadlullah said: “Therefore, the Lebanese have no alternative other
than the real participation of all parties in formulating the new
Lebanon, especially at a time political and security storms are
striking the region. Without this participation, Lebanon will be the
Lebanon of chaos or the country that produces the moving strives in
which no specific party in particular will fall, but the Lebanese
political security economic and social temple will fall on the heads
of all Lebanese.
