Meeting > Sayyed Fadlullah activity in Mecca Zoul-Hijja 07 1423H February 08 2003A.D |
During
his stay in Mecca ,
The Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah continued to
receive delegations of pilgrims from various parts of the world
addressing them about the status of the nation and their current and
future tasks to face the challenges.
With
the Arrogance about to launch its war, end all minor differences
In
one of his statements he emphasized that we ought to stop talking and
differing about trivial issues and solidify our unity. The earth is
shaking under our feet, tempests are blowing on us from every
direction and the American arrogance is trying to colonize our region,
while we remain occupied with fighting one another.
Is such a fragmentation natural? It
is rational for some of us to turn to pawns in the Arrogance service?
If
there is a major Islamic interest Muslims could join western parties
The Sayyed answered a question about
the possibility of entering non-Islamic parties especially western
ones. As well as becoming candidates in foreign countries.
He said: In principle, Muslims are
not permitted to enter has –Islamic parties. They have, even if the
party was Islamic, to study its agenda, ideology and political theory
before joining it.
As for elections, a Muslim cannot
provide legitimacy by such means to those who are not. When you vote
you are pledging to be loyal to those you are voting for, and thus you
bear the responsibility of all what is going to do. Therefore, with
the Muslims on the increase in the West, we believe that an Islamic
committee should be formed in each country to study the situation. It
should be formed of trustworthy and knowledgeable people who would
study the interests of Muslims in that country and what best serves
these interests, whether to them as a community or to the interests of
the Muslims all over the world.
If they find that it is feasible to
enter these parties, then certain Muslims might join the party in a
political manner; that is they should keep their Islamic beliefs just
as the Westerners themselves do when they join these parties.
If such a stance serves the Muslims
interests it is not only permissible but it might become even
obligatory.
As for Muslims running as candidates,
it is permissible if we can find candidates whom we are sure that they
will defend the causes of Muslims. We can also support the native
candidates, when we are sure that if others win more damage to Islam
will occur.
