H.E the Religious Authority Sayyed M.H. Fadlallah noticed that the Jews didn’t resort to any kind of exciting  words but rather to immediate action. After a thorough understanding of the world, the Jews smartly penetrated to the most important positions and participated in the universal decisions of the states. However, when the Palestinian cause came into existence, our Islamic nation did not depend on real actions, it  only  applauded to the best enthusiastic speaker.

 The Sayyed added :When we attempt to study the controversial concepts: terrorism and extremism, we realize that they originated from the land of Palestine, a land which generated a feeling of oppression in the minds of Arabs and Muslims as well. The struggle in Palestine is similar to that of Ohud, Bader and Hounine being a struggle against tyranny and oppression. They all carry the same spirit. This spirit was originated from here, Lebanon, and empowered the Islamic Resistance to achieve the first defeat against our enemy. It is a defeat that  would be repeated and completed in Palestine.

These remarks were made in the Conference of Muslim Scholars: “Jerusalem Salvation and the Support to the Palestinians Are One Religious and Jihad Duty”. In this conference, His Eminence confirmed that Palestine started to be threatened  since the first Jewish conference a century ago. The situation was  very serious and critical  from the beginning, for the Jews immediately resorted to the application to what they decided on during their conference. They attempted at not only knowing the world but also at understanding Palestine and its neighboring Arab countries. Most importantly, they attempted at knowing the weaknesses in the political life of these countries. This knowledge facilitated their way to intermingle with the Arabs and to fragment their unity which we have witnessed and which we are still suffering  from its tragic outcomes. The disunity among us is the ultimate result of our ignorance and backwardness.

We founded the prisons while the Jews usurped Palestine.

The Palestinian cause came into movement during the 30s. However, our movement was spontaneous and without a definite plan. Meanwhile, speeches became the only dominant   form of resistance, and people were preoccupied with the applaud. Yet, the worst was to come: we, the religious thinkers, were to be evaluated and ranked according to the way we deliver our speeches. Soon after the resistance    started, the Zionist international ploy inflicted both the Arab and the Islamic worlds with the fever of  ideologies and concepts which the Arabs were ignorant of. Indeed, we fell in their trap, the moment we started occupying ourselves with trivialities such as the arguments about the sex of angels; we fell in their trap when sectarianism was aroused, and the movement of deception, delusion, and accusing others of being infidel became our daily concern. We imprisoned ourselves in the cells of ignorance and prejudice, these cells imprisoned us,  not only in Palestine but also  in the Arab world as a whole. In fact, when Palestine rose; this rise was hindered with so many Islamic and Arab obstacles. We kept ourselves busy with the search for the identity of the Palestinian cause: is it Palestinian? Is it national, or Islamic? Unfortunately, we enclosed our minds to any open debate, while the others were in the process of planning to the Islamic world through the Palestinian cause.

Palestine has become just some occupied lands:

Dear ones… if we attempt at understanding all the ideologies which are incorporated in our real life since the 50s, all the movements and parties which were born here and there, all the wars that occurred between one Islamic country and the other, and all the factors that dissociated the unity of our Islamic countries, we then come to realize that the purpose is, simply deviating us from our real path which is the Palestinian cause. Our problem has become how to diminish the Palestinian cause until it becomes merely some occupied lands rather than a universal case. Ironically enough, we didn’t only accept the new concept “The occupied lands” but we started telling ourselves that Israel is an expansionist state. Here the question was seriously aroused: Is Israel a state that possesses a legal land to be considered an expansionist state? This matter shows how much we have consumed their words and how powerful Israel is in imposing its demands and issues upon us. It also shows how we got indulged in such trivial details.

The Palestinian case is our starting point.

Dear ones, if you have examined all the new concepts of terrorism or extremism, and all this universal uproar, you will then realize that the Palestinian cause is the starting point. Indeed, it has generated a deep wound in the conscience of the Islamic world.

 But since there are a lot of accusations calling our struggle in Palestine as a form of terrorism, we insist on our Muslim Religious scholars to authenticate Islamic values.

Furthermore, we should know how to react with the international statuesque. Our Muslim scholars should help others live Islam and understand it. They should respond to all other technological challenges and, at the same time, they should know how to express and manage their opinions according to the norms of our century.

Dear ones: After one century of raping Palestine by the Zionists, and after all these wounds and damages to our Islamic world, and most importantly, after all this political and economical failure in our Islamic world, we come to ask whether both fighting and facing Israel are a religious and jihad duty!! Does it need a permission to reconsider the Palestinian cause or should we reconsider it? Although, as religious scholars, we constantly deliver speeches informing people about Palestine, why haven’t these speeches penetrated to the minds of our people to form a public education yet? In fact, we could, and the Palestinian bloodbath could, inflame and enthrall the Islamic world. However, the problem is that our Islamic world is not well educated about the Palestinian cause. Yet the worst has to come, our Islamic world is ignorant of the American game,  and of international arrogance, attempts to terminate the Palestinian cause. As religious scholars, we have to exert all our efforts not only to educate our people about this holy cause but also to enjoin the good and forbid the evil. Our Islamic world should take the initiative to punish any state that supports Israel. I ask now: “How many edicts to boycott the American goods have we issued so far? Ironically enough that when we issue such edicts, we begin making fun of each other. I am aware that we are consuming people, but the truth is that when there is a strong determination, we succeed in attaining our objectives .

Don’t rush into hasty decisions, but think about applicable steps:

Dear ones, we should realize that they forced us to make demonstrations inside our mosques and inside our universities as well... They also imposed on us their words and their concepts. Accordingly, you should get rid of all enthusiastic and hot expressions; we have exploited them a lot so far; we need a new look a self criticism asking ourselves about our abilities and how we can deploy them, we are not supposed to fall in their trap, in the fire of internal conflicts. We should start a new step which is isolating and preventing all those who are American puppets. These puppets have served as guards to a big jail in which we are all imprisoned. We should  be serious and at the same time work hard so as to authenticate both the martyrdom operations and the concept of Jihad. We should authenticate them without having any feeling that we are either accused or condemned of being aggressive. We should be confident enough that our Holy Book, the Quran, and the traditions  of the Prophet guide us. Ironically enough that although we refuse to be accused, we find ourselves in the process of defending what we are accuse of . What is required is the action rather than the reaction, since the latter is a major drawback. We had better possess all the successful steps and strategies to liberate Palestine. We need an educational campaign which could contribute in instructing the Islamic world that Palestine is not a mere land restricted to the Palestinians; on the contrary, it should be understood that it is on Islamic and holy cause. 

The Palestinians are fighting for the Islamic world as a whole. These people possess the pulse of Bader, Ohud, Hounien, and Alahzab. They are fighting for the same holy cause which most Islamic countries have neglected. It is, in fact, the Islamic spirit which motivated them and not mere hot speeches. This pure spirit has first originated here in Lebanon when the Islamic Resistance proved to the world that the Jews could be easily conquered. This defeat begins in Lebanon, and it needs to be finalized in Palestine. The Islamic resistance aimed at the universality of Islamic issues “And we haven’t sent thee (O Muhammad) save as a bringer of good and a Warner unto all mankind.” Our mission is to Islamize the world and to get rid of all the complexities which might hinder our progress.

Finally, the Palestinian cause has obliged us to re-unite.

Let’s exploit our unity to encounter the international arrogance. Let’s be servants to God, logical mindful, and Quranic. Should we give up?

Of course we shouldn’t. But we should avoid any internal conflict which they might provoke between the Sunni and Shiites. Sunni and Shiites should be understood able so as to avoid ruin to the Islamic world; according, we will then conquer not only Israel but also what is called the universal arrogance: “My God rid us of our weaknesses since it is damaging us all.”
