Calls for shutting the doors of Denmark to the Muslims

Due to the fact that Muslims do not marry non-Muslims in Denmark, the extremist right-wing People’s Party released statements in which he called for banging the doors of Denmark shut before the Muslim immigrants…

The results of the marriage report published by Statistics Denmark revealed that a big number of Muslim youth, up to 80% of the Muslims immigrants, do not approve of marrying people from other religions. As for those who do approve of such marriage, they set a condition that the future spouse should embrace Islam, knowing that the Turkish and Pakistani immigrants are among the least communities who marry non-Muslims, for the percentage of those among them who approve of marrying non-Muslims reaches 10% only…

These results angered the right-wing People’s Party, and the party’s integration spokesman, Martin Henriksen, released anti-Muslim statements, in which he said: “We must work towards bringing down the immigration from Muslim countries to zero…”

Henriksen also confirmed that the laws set for the integration of immigrants are not sufficient anymore, and he added: “Muslim men do not want to marry Danish women. It is problematic. If we are to hope that these families will be integrated in the future, we must introduce new and significant restrictions on immigration from Muslim countries…

The Danish population reaches 5,5 million people, and 226 thousand Muslims reside in Denmark according to official statistics…

In principle, Islam does not forbid Muslim men from marrying women from the People of the Book, and not marrying women from the People of the Book is not the result of any complex, background or enmity. In fact, many Muslim men throughout the world are married to non-Muslim women and together they formed families…

As for the religious opinion, His Eminence, the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra) says: “It is permissible for the Muslim man to marry a woman from the People of the Book even if she remains on her religion; whereas, a Muslim woman is not allowed to marry a man from the People of the Book if he does not convert to Islam, according to the related evidences. Perhaps the reason for that is that the Muslim recognizes all the previous Divine Messages, while the Jew or the Christian, each according to his religion, does not recognize Islam as a religion, keeping in mind that usually it is the man who influences the family in terms of the intellectual and religious affiliation and that the children follow their father in their personal and religious identities…
