Q: What are books of “misguidance”? Is it permissible to own and read such books? Can we include current books that discuss Islam from an objective or a personal point of view under “books of misguidance”?

A: books of misguidance, as the name indicates, are books that aim at misguiding readers and leading them astray. It is impermissible to own or read such books as long as they do not actually misguide the reader.
