The First Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Allah says in His Glorious Book:
Certainly We sent Our apostles with clear
arguments, and sent down with them the Book and the balance that men
may conduct themselves with equity.
He also says: and when you
speak, then be just though it be against a relative.
Say: My Lord has enjoined justice.
Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the
doing of good to others.
O you who believe! Be maintainers of justice,
bearers of witness of Allah's sake, though it may be against your own
selves or your parents no near relatives; if he be rich or poor, Allah
is nearer to them both in compassion; therefore do not follow your low
desires, lest you deviate; and if you are aware or turn aside, then
surely Allah is aware of what you do.
O you who believe! Be upright for Allah, bearers of
witness with justice, and let not hatred of a people incite you not to
act equitably; Allah; surely Allah is Aware of what you do.
In these Holy Ayahs and in several others, Allah
explains that the Messengers and the Messages were sent to base life
on the principle of justice… Justice in the relations of man with God,
in believing in his oneness in worshiping and obedience. Justice with
the Messengers in following and supporting them since supporting them
is supporting one’s self in not wronging himself, leading to harm and
suffering.
Just as Allah does not want us to wrong others, He
does not want us to wrong ourselves. He tells us about those who
rebelled and did not believe in Allah that it was not Allah who
wronged them but they wronged themselves. They wronged themselves when
they committed unlawful deeds that would bring about Allah's wrath.
Anybody who disobeys Allah either by indulging or falling victim to
his sensual desires, or by taking unlawful money or supporting
unlawful stands, he will be wronging himself, even though he might
tend to believe that he is being fair to himself since he is seeking
worldly pleasures, because he will end up in hell.
Man has to be just as home, each spouse should be
just with his partner. And parents should be just with their children
by raising them and educating them. Children too should give their
parents their rights. Allah did not give the husband or the wife the
freedom of acting as they wish. He has drawn the limits of such
freedom saying. And women shall have rights
similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable.
Man also has to be just in dealing with others especially in business,
or any transaction.
A politician or an official should also be just
both in his stands and towards his subjects. He should not support the
tyrant or the corrupt.
The nation too should not yield to the tyrants, as
people tend to support influential politicians or those of a high
social status, even when supporting them is equivalent to helping them
to sin.
Man has to be just also when he is called to
testify. Allah wants you to testify to God and not to promote your
personal interests. If you have to say your word, let it be the word
of justice even if it is against your close relatives.
If you have to testify with something that has to
do with your enemy, you have to give him his right, and the enmity
between you should not hinder your justice , since it is above
friendship and enmity, for Allah says: O you who
believe! Be upright for Allah, bearers of witness with justice, and
let not hatred of a people incite you not to act equitably; Allah;
surely Allah is Aware of what you do.
In explaining the meaning of Allah’s saying that He
gives life to earth after its death, Imam Al-Kazim says that it is not
done by rain, as some might think but by sending men to establish
justice which will bring life back to earth, for establishing justice
will let the nation live a life of fairness in which no man violates
the right of others.
This explanation of Imam Al-Kazim suggests to us
that he is talking about the mission of Imam Al-Mahdi who will bring
back justice on earth having been filled with oppression and wronging.
How could man be just especially that being just is
a condition for being the Imam in prayers, as well as being an
accepted witness! Who is the just then? The Messenger says that it is
he who does not wrong people if he deals with them and does not lie to
people when he talks to them.
If he promises something he will fulfil it. He also
said: "What you hate for yourself, hate for others: If you hate to be
hurt do not hate others, you will be just in your role loved by those
in heaven and on earth.
Imam Jaafar said when asked about How a man's
justness is proved, so that his witness, in favour of or against the
Muslim society, can be accepted: A just man must be recognized by
these attributes or qualities: he should be modest and chaste, he must
be avoiding prohibited eating or earning and should refrain from
passion. He can be recognised by not dirtying his hand and tongue in
sin and by keeping away from big sins. God has promised chastisements
like drinking, adultery, usury or interest, disobeying and fleeing
from Jihad.
Imam Sadiq (a.s.) also said: Anyone who lives in
a society and does not commit oppression or injustice, and enlightens
them and does not speak untruthfully when informing them, and after
giving promise, does not break it, is from those whose backbiting is
prohibited. His manliness has perfected, his justness become obvious
and brotherhood with him has become compulsory.
Imam Ali says: If the subjects perform their duties
towards the ruler and the ruler performs his duty towards his
subjects, right will be established any justice will be maintained,
but if the subjects overcome the ruler, or the ruler wrongs the
subjects, oppression will appear.
This is the humanistic Islamic value of justice
that Allah wants every Muslim to believe in and adhere to. Every one
of us should fear Allah in all that and take it into consideration in
his relations with God, himself, his family and all people. Allah
wanted man to establish justice and this is what we should build our
education on and this is that the society should aim at in all its
moves.
The Second Sermon
War of eradication:
In occupied Palestine, the war of eradication
continues. The Jewish racist army is trying to eliminate "The
Palestinian address". The racist Jewish Army is still killing
Palestinian youths, women, children and elderly for fear that they
fight against occupation force.
The leaders and parties of the Zionist Entity are
still frustrated as a result of the stand of this strong and
courageous people who if a generation falls in the battle field
another generation will continue the straggle to build a free future
for the coming generation.
This is what we saw in the new operation which the
Mujhideen executed. They have challenged the Zionist army in one of
its military bases killing two soldiers and capturing a third, which
made it feel that all its military power and killing machine cannot
defeat this steadfast people despite all the killing, dislocation,
detention and starving.
America finds justifications
The White Hose talks about the Zionist violence, as
an act of self-defence while it does not recognize that the
Palestinian people’s right to defend their freedom and independence.
Bush does not feel that the Palestinians are a people that deserve to
live. Britain too, considered, as its foreign minister stated, that
the Palestinian operation is a terrorist act, adding that such
violence further distances the prospects or peaceful solution. It is
the racial mentality that has imposed itself on several EU states
which did not say one word against the invasion of Gaza, as if the
life of one Israeli soldier is worth the life of all Palestinians and
all Arabs too.
The windows of freedom
In the Arab world, the arrogant powers have
installed regimes that are afraid of the Zionist power, which made all
Arab armies unable to defend the nation. These armies have turned into
a force that oppresses its people if they dare to oppose the American
arrogant policies, or protest against the internal oppression that
prevents the people even from demonstrating freely.
The Palestinian people stand alone in the face of
the Western racism that supports the Zionist one. I call upon all Arab
and Islamic peoples to support the Palestinians with all possible
means of liberation, because the Israeli plot challenges the entire
Arab world and because if the Palestinians fall the Zionists will turn
against their countries’ security and economy.
Palestine has opened up many a window of freedom
for the nation, which has to widen it to retrieve its glory and
dignity in the fight for freedom. The west does not want the Arab and
Muslim world to become democratic to further its causes. It only
accepts democracy when it promotes arrogant interests. That is why it
has oppressed, though Israel – all those who were elected by the
people, and went on to punish them for their free choice. The West has
gone back to its colonialist mentality and we have to preserve man's
humanity by fighting for our freedom and independence
Resistance in Iraq
In Iraq, the occupation still imposes itself up on
the Iraqis without providing them with any of their necessary needs.
The terrorists too are still killing children woman, the elderly and
the youth workers and peasants, with a takfiri mentality that supports
the occupation while claiming to fight it. We call for a popular
resistance against the occupation, which is not of the kind practiced
by those people who kill daily tens or even hundreds of Iraqis. These
people distort the image of Islam when they kill innocent people in
its name every day.
As we feel the dangerousness of what is going on in
Iraq whether by the takifris through their daily killings, or the
occupation forces that let chaos dominate Iraq, we wish success to all
the initiatives that seek national reconciliation between all Iraqi
sects, and call on everybody to support them to enter a new phase of
seeking freedom and independence and building new future in which
everybody fights to oust the occupier.
Lebanon youth
We are witnessing in Lebanon two kinds of speeches,
one that calls on accepting advice and taking others' positions into
consideration and one that tackles political issues in a sectarian
way.
I call on Lebanese politicians and religious
officials to be an example to be followed and to resist emotions,
because they lead the country to the abyss.
The problem is that political or spiritual
(religious) meetings in Lebanon remain formal while sectarianism
dominates Lebanese politics, having been legitimized by the sectarian
regime and encouraged by the sectarian leaders. Internal unity,
national dialogue, state institutions and reform are all words used in
political salons, but when it comes to practice, everybody will go
back to their sectarian grounds.
It is for our Lebanese youth to work on creating
the future of their country on the basis of their unity and away from
sectarianism.
The future belongs to the makers of freedom for the
coming generations and not for those who incite sectarian instincts in
the darkness of the successive crisis |
