The First Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful
Allah says in His Glorious Book.
Have you then considered him who takes his low
desire for his god, and Allah has made him err having knowledge and
has set a seal upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his
eye. Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be mindful?
And: and who is more erring than he who follows his low desires
without any guidance from Allah.
A theme that is always repeated in the Holy Book
and the Hadith: Warning from following one's desires and lusts, since
it involves not being concerned with earning the satisfaction of
Allah, but following one's desires in what he drinks or eats, or in
the pleasures he seeks even if they were haram. It also involves
earning money in an unlawful way.
Thus being overwhelmed in following one's lusts
leads one not to base his deeds on piety. His only concern would be to
satisfy his desires, while what Allah has ordained and what pleases
Allah and earns the believer a place in Heaven is something he does
not take into consideration. People are used to say that we will think
about it when we come for it, oblivious of the fact that it would be
too late fact.
The problem with desires is that they are not
founded on a fixed basis. One might desire something one day and
another the following day. He who follows his desires will not follow
a straight line, but one that is drawn by his lusts, which is of
course a deviated line.
Allah has told us about those who might profess
that there is no God but Allah, but they would not put this testimony
into practice. Saying that there is no god but Allah means that you
acknowledge that – Allah is the only god, which means that you have to
obey Him, fear His punishment, and seek His reward. He is only one who
should fill your mind and heart, who should be present in all your
actions and relationships which should seek the satisfaction of Allah,
The Most Exalted, and nothing but the statistician of Allah.
Traditions say that the man who enjoys the shadow of Allah, on the day
when there is no shadow but His shadow, is the one that does not set a
foot forward or backward until he knows that it pleases Allah. The
fundamental question of a believer should be: Is this Halal or Haram?
Does it please Allah or not?
Those who follow their lusts and instincts their
God is desire. Allah wanted to point at these people when he talked
about he who takes his desires as his god – And
Allah has made err having knowledge Allah has let him continue
in his deviation having showed him the straight path, and has set
a seal upon his ear and his heart
(meaning the mind), that is the mind does not think about God and
about what his belief that Allah is the only God imposes on him.
Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not
then be mindful? And leave this quagmire of lust that you have
drawn yourself into.
Following lusts is choosing this world:
Allah has also told us about those who follow the
desires of others like the wife, the husband, or the deviated
political leadership who might lead you to killing people unlawfully.
Thus there are those who follow their own desires and those who follow
the desires of others, but both will be substituting the Hereafter by
the pleasures of this world.
The Prophet too has told us about those who follow their desires
and those who follow Allah's wishes. He says: Allah Almighty said: `By
My Honor, My Glory, My Greatness, My Light, My Loftiness, and by the
Highness of My Station! When My servant gives preference to his desire
over My wish, I put his affairs into confusion, make his life baffling
in this world and his heart preoccupied with the world(with both his
heart and mind) , although I do not give him anything of it except
what I have preordained for him. And by My Honor, My Glory, My
Greatness, My Light, My Loftiness and by the Highness of My Station!
If My servant prefers My wish to his desire, My angels protect him,
the heavens and the earth guarantee his sustenance, and I look after
his trade and bring the world to him though it should be reluctant and
recalcitrant.'"
Imam Ali(a.s. )says: There are two things that I fear for you most:
following one’s passions and forever hoping, because following one’s
passions impedes truth ( for those who seek only to satisfy their
desires will deviate from the straight path), and forever hoping
causes one to forget the Hereafter. (Because he thinks that he will
not die, but those who believe that they will die at any moment will
remain fearful that he might meet God unprepared)
Imam As-Sadiq says: Be apprehensive of your desires (study them to
learn if they are lawful or prohibited. Allah has created these
desires, but he defined controls to restrain them ) in the same way as
you are apprehensive of your enemies. For there is no greater enemy
for human beings than their own desires and what their tongues reap.
The Garden is the abode of those who restrain
desires:
Allah has talked to us about those who restrain their desires:
Then as for him who is inordinate, And had
preferred the life of this world, The Abode will be Hell-Fire;
Lo! Hell will be his home.
And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their
Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires,
Their abode will be the Garden.
Therefore the believer ought to be apprehensive of
his desires; He should not make the aim of his life to fulfil then.
Rather he should seek to please Allah and prepare for the Hereafter.
But seek, with the (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on thee, the Home
of the Hereafter, nor forget thy portion in this world: but do thou
good, as Allah has been good to thee, and seek not (occasions for)
mischief in the land: for Allah loves not those who do mischief.
And: Say: Who hath forbidden the adornment of
Allah which He hath brought forth for His bondmen, and the good things
of His providing? Say: Such, on the Day of Resurrection, will be only
for those who believed during the life of the world. The
desires that you should fulfil are the lawful ones. You should enjoy
these desires and stay away from the unlawful ones so that you will
ensure that Allah will be pleased from you on the day of judgement.
The Second Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The West's attitude towards the region
The Israeli Army continues its aggressions against
the Palestinians, with its daily air and land raids, claiming that it
is retaliating against the rockets that the Mujahideen are launching
in the face of the raids, assassinations and detentions that target
the Palestinian civilians, especially the women, children and elderly.
It is interesting that the Enemy's Foreign Minister
is calling for an international action to pressurize whom it calls
terrorists as well as the Palestinian Government, claiming that there
is no compromise with terrorism and that it is our duty to hit the
rocket launchers and Hamas.
The High Representative of the Common European
Foreign and Security Policy was with the Israeli Minister when the
rockets fell a few meters away from where the meeting took place. This
made him denounce violence, but he, along with most EU states, does
not denounce Israeli violence, which started with occupation, and is
still continuing using the advanced weapons America sends to the
Jewish state.
The Western states, headed by the US, have always
supported the Jews against the Arabs and Muslims. They also supported
occupation although they claim to be against it in principle, since it
is against the freedom of nations… But the occupation of an Arab or
Muslim land does not represent any breach of human rights, for they
have a historical complex against the peoples of the region, whom
they, and especially Britain, paved the way for the Jewish occupation
of Palestine, had colonized.
Those who reconciled with the enemy…
On the another level, we find that the Arab and
Muslim countries who have reconciled with the enemy, like Jordan and
Egypt, and those who have established economic relations with it do
not exert any pressure an Israel, at a time everyone knows that they
have several political and economic direct and a indirect pressure
tools. But they find it enough to stand by and watch while the enemy
kills the Palestinians who defend the freedom of their land and
children. They might make some denouncing empty statements… and they
might talk about peace with Israel who rejected their initiative, and
who speaks in a way that does not convey respect to the Arabs who have
become a long time ago addicted to shame, and do not intend to put an
end to this addiction by liberation. They have even allied with the
enemy against the heroic Resistance that ended our shame both in the
liberation of the year 2000, and in July 2006, because they are afraid
that the movement of freedom will expand to their regimes that are
controlled by the US and Israeli policies.
America is a terrorist state
The Bush Administration continues to play the role
of the cop that protects its interests in the Middle East, and points
its political, economic and security weapons against the region’s
interests, claiming deceitfully that it is seeking to promote
democracy and human rights, at a time it is planning to establish a
political and security alliance of several Arab dictatorships which it
claims to be moderate, to participate in its wars, and make them join
the Jewish state that it believes to be the most civilized and
moderate in the region. Some of the Arab officials have gone as far as
saying that Israel is their friend, their ally and the protector of
the Arabs against Iran. In this respect, it is interesting that one of
Bush's advisors said: I believe that they decided (Bush's men) to play
the role of good cop instead of the bad one they have been playing for
six years". He added. “This good cop bad cop scenario works only if
the bad cop can be believed".
We believe that this Administration, represented by
the President and his vice, will not be able to play the role of the
cop, good or bad, because it has become a terrorist state that flexes
its military political and economic muscles to confiscate the freedom
of any people seeking to become free, and refuse to be a slave to any
arrogant power. That is why we have seen that the regional officials
are trying to distance themselves from the Administration because the
American envoys ask them to protect US interests at the expense of
that of their countries.
America begs for help:
The impasse this terrorist state is living in its
occupation of Iraq has led America to beg several Arab and Muslim
countries to save it from the dilemma it finds itself in.
President Bush has even begun to appeal to the
Iraqis saying: We need your help to end violence more than ever
before", although he used to boost reminding the Iraqis that he has
saved them from violence.
But we all know that his plan was to turn Iraq into
a country that is dominated by violence. And now their plan is to
preserve the security of the American soldiers and not that of the
Iraqis, with the American public opinion, both democrats and
republicans, is demanding the withdrawal from Iraq that has turned
into a graveyard for American soldiers.
America has entered the region as a result of the
policies of the Administration that is controlled by the neo-cons.
This led to the undermining of its political security and economic
interests and turned several Arabs and Muslim countries into a hell
dominated by violence that kills innocent women, elderly and children.
Muslims began to kill Muslims and citizens commit aggressions against
other citizens, for this is the natural result constructive chaos
creates… That is why we voice our call to all our downtrodden nation,
to stand with the Resistance and all forces of opposition against the
policies of this administration to widen its impasse, since this is
the only way to weaken it and revitalize our peoples enabling them to
determine their fate. If we leave America free to practice the
policies of occupation and oppression it will burn the entire world by
its arrogant policies and not its atomic bomb.
Lebanon: The role of foreign envoys
:
Lebanon is plagued in this stage by bloody violence
as a result of the political shock that prevented the citizens from
conducting an objective rational dialogue to reach the plans that
prevents the fall of the country under personal, political and
sectarian ambitions that hide under a veil of political sectarian and
personal hypocrisy, that supports the outlaws with money and political
clout, to use them in the fight against its supposed internal enemies.
On another level, we have a sensitive problem; that
of the religious authorities that have abandoned the unifying
discourse that unites people on the basis of spiritual and moral
values as well as national interests.
They have started to support one political party
against the other, thus creating strife, while claiming that they are
for all, although they want the entire people subjected to the
privileges of their political leaders. This is what we suffer from
whenever we face a crucial landmark, since the discourse will be
manipulated, behind closed doors, by the instructions of international
envoys, who nevertheless claim that they do not interfere in the
internal affairs of Lebanon.
The deputies used to wait for the tip before every
new presidential election or other major decision. Things have not
changed much, and the suggestions are still being made both regionally
and internationally, for the presidency is not decided upon by
internal needs but by foreign ones…
Faced by this security troubles and vicious
bombings, we call upon every Lebanese citizen to act as a guard, since
civil peace and national security is the responsibility of all.
Liberation laid the ground for the enemy's defeat.
On the occasion of liberation, we have to be aware
of the event in its current and new connotations, since it has been a
continuing inspiration for the Arab and Muslim nations that want to
get rid of Israeli occupation and American hegemony.
The liberation of most of the Lebanese territories,
is an important landmark, which laid the foundation, to defeating the
enemy in its last aggression. That is why the responsibility should be
held by each and everyone of us, and not only to protect the
Resistance and its achievements, but also to invest them at all
political, security and cultural levels since they represent, a big
asset to the homeland and the nation; an asset, we should not forego
or undermine under any circumstances.
