Allah says in His Glorious Book:

And yield not to any mean swearer. A slanderer, going about with calumnies, (Habitually) hindering (all) good, transgressing beyond bounds, deep in sin,
These Ayahs guide the Muslim believers to refrain from blindly obeying such people, who are ready with oath, at any time without being based on truth, thus disrespecting Allah's position as a result of their addiction to swear whether when there is a need or not. And tell them that Allah's disgrace falls on these people. Then we have the defamer who exposes the faults and flows of others and the slanderers that hear from one-person bad things about someone, and relay it to the latter.

Allah wants to show that such an attitude makes those who do it far away from Him. That is why he says: Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things.

Imam Jafa’ar As-Sadiq (a.s.) says that the Prophet(p.) once asked some of his companions: Shall I tell you about the most evil among you. When they said yes, he told them that they are those who "slander", and move among the people to incite strife, those – who create dissention among friends and those who attribute flows and sins to the innocent, as a result of a certain hatred complex or the like.

The Prophet is reported to have said that “a slanderer does not enter Paradise", which means that if a man fulfils all his worshipping duties, but he commits slander – tells others what has been said about them in their absence will find the door of Paradise closed in his face.

Imam Al-Baqir has repeated the same saying when he said that Paradise is prohibited to those who commit slander. Imam Ali (a.s.) advised some of his companions to keep away from slander because it incites hatred and distances one away from Allah and the people, since Allah hates the slanderer and the people will become wary of him.

Imam as-Sadiq (a.s.) says: who helps against a believer even by a part of word will meet Allah on the day of judgement with the following written between his eyes: "There is no hope in My Mercy".

These are some of the sayings regarding this sin that is considered a major one, since it prevents one from entering paradise. Yet this habit is spread in our society, where we find people on the family level telling the husband what his wife has said, about him leading to divorce. We also find it in the atmosphere of intelligence spheres whether among individuals in which they would convey something about a person to another to create a problem for him, or even in local, regional or international intelligence agencies which might threaten the lives of believers and innocent people, when the slanderer conveys to an unjust authority he deals with, one of the things an opposition member or believer has said, so that he would be punished by jail or assassination.

We know that the work of intelligence agencies whether local, regional or international is to hear what has been said and covey it… Some would convey it to the political authority they work for to ensure the integrity of the nation and enable the state to face those who incite strife. But others might convey some talk to an unjust authority that would lead to punishing the innocent.

Others may be motivated by hatred or as a result of a complex to distort the image of a believer, accusing him of false accusations and altering what he has sad. A believer should refrain from doing such a sin since it deprives him of Allah's satisfaction and paradise.

There is a tradition that illustrates slander in a very lively way; it says that a bottle of blood will be brought to the slanderer, on the Day of Judgement and he will be told. This is your share of the other's blood. He would then answer, but I did not kill or wound any body. It is true that you were peaceful but you heard him say a word and you conveyed it to the tyrant and he killed him. Therefore you are a partner in the victim’s blood.

Therefore, the meaning of being a believer is that people are safe from your hand and tongue. The meaning of being pious is to fear Allah towards yourself and others. This is what Allah wants you to understand when you perform your prayers, which enjoins good and forbids evil. Slander is one of the biggest evils that we have to refrain from and educate our children and families, to abstain from in response to Allah's saying: O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded.

In preparing for the coming Autumn Conference, it seems that the Israelis are trying to overwhelm the Palestinians with their security projects, as a mean of stalling, while they continue to build the settlements that Palestinian Authority has asked them to halt. In the meantime, the Israeli Keenest has sent a clear message to the international community that it is impossible to give up East Jerusalem in any possible settlement with the Palestinians. All these elements affirm that the aim of the conference is only to create a state of normalization between the Arabs and the Zionist entity, and present Israel as a country that seeks peace and finding a situation to the Arab Israeli struggle at the expense of the Palestinian cause which is of central significance in this struggle.

The Enemy's Prime Minister insists on that the Palestinian Authority should recognize Israel as a state for the Jewish people as a precondition to reach a declaration of principles that the two sides are studying before the conference convenes, indicating that this would practically mean that the Palestinians would abandon their demand of their right of return, since that would change the demographic balance and tilt it towards the Palestinians. Furthermore, there is a growing opposition on the political and popular levels to the conference since they claim that it would have a negative impact on the Israeli interests. Thus, the Israelis majority will not accept any solution that will give the Palestinians their legitimate rights that the Arabs are demanding having abandoned their right in all of Palestine.

All this makes the talk about the conference being a window of opportunity for the big solution somewhat naïve, for it is more probable that it will be a big failure.

The Arabs and Palestinians are wondering about the ability of the Arab foreign ministers meeting to reach a decisive agreement on a positive solution for the Arab – Israeli struggle since they do not possess the necessary cards to play in this international game, especially that the US, through its secretary of state, is talking in a consummative unrealistic way, especially that the Enemy's foreign minister has declared that she opposes any solution that is not based on protecting the Israeli security from the so-called Palestinian terrorism that is the Intifada, which might lead to many complications in the Palestinian sphere including a civil war if the Authority decides to confront the Intifada freedom fighters.

The problem is that the Jews are moving through the entire West to hinder any just cause to the Palestinian issue depending on that the Arab will not do anything to stand with this sacred cause. They have grown tired and their only concern is how to be liberated from Palestine at any price. And this is what we notice in their compliance with the American demands to deny any aid to the Palestinians.

In Palestine too, we feel that we have to condemn the barbaric massacre that followed the big demonstration that commemorated the anniversary of Arafat's death, as a show of force that all parties are displaying.

We do not want to say who is responsible for such shows of force, which are followed by major mistakes and bad practices by several Palestinians whether those in charge or not, and that might lead to self destruction at a time the Enemy's Prime Minister is threatening to bomb Gaza strip and tighten the grip on it, while continuing the assassinations and arrests in the West Bank.

We appeal to all Palestinian officials of all factions to have mercy on the people and not point their stupid arbitrary guns to this citizens especially women and children civilians. They should shoulder the responsibility of their just cause, which the enemy and the arrogant powers are trying to liquidate.

Palestine is God’s trust not only to the Palestinians but also to all Arabs and Muslims, and they have to honour their responsibility.

On another level, some Arab officials are saying to Iran that it should not interfere in Iraq, and think twice before engaging into something that will lead to a confrontation with the entire Arab world. They even told Iran that it is sacrificing its entire future, for the sake of the nuclear bomb.

We are against any intervention in Iraq that might destabilize its security and political reality, but we wonder why these Arab officials do not talk about America and Britain’s intervention. They have occupied the country and created a state of chaos that destroys the Iraqi people and turns Iraq into a backyard for terrorism that is said to be financed by some Arab countries.

We call for increasing cooperation between Iran and the Arab countries especially the Gulf States, especially that they have common political, security and economic interests.

As for the nuclear dossier, all parties should engage in a dialogue about it, especially that Iran and the International Atomic Agency have assured that it is a peaceful one. Moreover, we do not know why the regional states don't talk about the Israeli nuclear threat on the entire region.

On another level, the United States announced that it would provide Lebanon with old training planes.

Why does not it provide for this country that has been facing the threat of Israeli aggression, for scores of years, new planes or new defensive weapons that would enable it to defend itself, at a time it provides the enemy with the most sophisticated weapons that America has not even used yet. The only reason for this is that America is totally committed to the Israel security at the expense of all the states of the region. It wants Israel to remain the strongest state in the region so that it can defend the American strategy in the region.

Meanwhile, America continues its endeavour to secure its political and security hegemony all over the world by inciting chaos through local cards and destabilizing the various states. In this respect, we notice the curbing of freedoms that some of America's allies are practicing as in Pakistan where the state of emergency was declared in the name of fighting terrorism. It also tries in Lebanon to run the affairs by imposing its political tutelage to further destabilize the situation. It has even imposed its conditions on the agenda of the coming president and demanded that he should publicly declare that he will implement UN Resolution 1559 that calls for disarming the Resistance.

The current stage the country is passing through is one of the most critical stages because it falls between a constitutional vacuum and the complicated problem of the quorum. The Lebanese are still playing with the fate of their country influenced by the major American player and the French who are trying to play a part in finding a solution. Its citizens, meanwhile, are anxious, especially that they hear talks, which suggests intimidation and fear.
