The First Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful
When God talks to His Prophet
In the Holy Quran, God starts His talk with His Prophet (p.)
several times by the word "say".
He is actually trying to draw the attention of the people to
the importance of the issue being raised. Thus, He commands His
Prophet(p.) to talk as if he is asking for a personal demand.
We read, for example His saying: O My
Lord! Increase me in knowledge, Allah, The Most Exalted, asks
His Prophet to pray and ask God to increase his knowledge so that it
will be a constant operation that rises from one level to another.
This means that the believers in their search for knowledge
should not stop any level, but they should always seek to increase
their knowledge, since knowledge and science raise the level of man
and enable him to understand the entire universe, thus cementing his
relations with God.
Scenes from the Hereafter:
In the verses, we are going to review now, Allah, The Most
Exalted, takes His Messenger to the Hereafter. He asks him to ask
Allah, not to put him with the wrong-doers who will face Allah's wrath
and end in hell, It is natural that the Prophet (p.) who is infallible
and who represents justice and who is utterly against any form of
wronging, could not in any way be with those who wrong others. It is
rather a way by which Allah is telling the people through His Prophet,
not to wrong others or support those who do.
Say: My Lord! If those should make me see what they
threatened with, will you show me the fate of
those who wronged themselves by wronging others and deviating from the
Islamic line that would lead them to hell?
"My Lord"! Then place me not with the
unjust" do not make me join them in their actions and let me be
away from their community. "And verily, we are
well able to make you see what we threaten them with. It is as
if Allah wants to tell the people, that if you choose to be unjust,
you will face the same fate the wrong-doers.
The callers and the People:
Then Allah, The Most Exalted, guides His Messenger (p.) to
the way he should act with those who stood against the Message "Repel
evil with that which is best".
He is telling him that you are but a caller who warns and
brings glad tidings.
Thus you should open up your mind and heart to all. Do not be
violent with those who do not accept your message. Try to open up
their minds to truth and their hearts to good. Guide them to what
ensures their success and their salvation. If they offend you with a
word or act repel with what is best, whether a word or an act ….the
best words the best means…
This is your task and this is your role. "We
know what they describe". We know what they hide and what they
show but your role is that of a messages.
"And say: O, My Lord I seek refuge in
you from the suggestions of the Shitans”. The Devil cannot come
to the Prophet (p.) or has access to him, for he is infallible. But
when Allah talks to the Messenger, He is talking through Him, to all
callers to the Right whom the Devil can try to deviate through certain
points of weakness in their personality.
Thus the callers and those who work for the cause of God,
have to ask for Allah's support to overcome Satan's attempts to be
present near them. "And I seek
refuge with You my Lord, lest they be present with me".
The fate of the oppressors
Then Allah, The Most Exalted, talks about the wrong doers,
and the unbelievers who follow Satan instead of following Allah. Those
who live long and do what they do, but then when they die and see how
the believers go to Paradise and how the unbelievers will go to hell,
they will see the truth before their very eyes and say:
"send me back to life in order that I may
do good in that which I have left".
O God, give me another chance, to do good and deserve your
satisfaction and earn your Bliss.
“By no means! It is but a word he says .
Before them is a Partition till the Day they are
raised up. But these are only words they say that are baseless…
Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no
more relationships between them that Day,
nor will one ask after another. Such relations are
insignificant on that day.
Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy - they will
attain salvation:
But those whose balance is light, (By bad deeds) will be
those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide .
The fire will burn their faces,
and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced. And Allah will
say to them: Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat
them as falsehood.
They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and
we became a people astray . We have chosen this
deviated way.
Our Lord! Bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil),
then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!"
He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)! And speak ye not
to Me! It is too late. I will not speak to you,
and you have to face the consequences of your deeds.
Then Allah talks about their relations with the believers:
A part of My servants there was,
who used to pray our Lord! We believe; then do Thou forgive us, and
have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!"
But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them
made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them!
I have rewarded them this Day
for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have
achieved Bliss..." And you see what their fate is and what is
yours.
Dear Beloved: This chapter of the Quran asks each and
everyone of us to think about the time we will meet God in the
Hereafter. The day we will be held accountable for our deeds: “Read
your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you this
day “. The day that no children or money will help, except our
good deeds. Let us keep away from the oppressors and the wrong doers,
so as to earn God’s satisfaction, and ensure our place in Heaven.
The Second Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful
In Palestine, the internal Palestinian fighting between Hamas
and Fatah is a political, security and humanitarian catastrophe, with
a brother killing another brother, and with hospitals being bombed to
revenge someone killed here or there. Despite the various appeals for
a ceasefire the number of casualties reached a few hundreds. Moreover,
there does not seem that there is any realistic solution to resolve
the escalating crisis.
The question we pose to the leaders is: was this battle a
result of a political or a security decision or was it the result of
irresponsible acts on both sides? In both cases, all parties bear the
responsibility of taking any decision that represents a betrayal to
the cause of the entire people.
And if those responsible for these events are agents of the
enemy, they should be exposed, and we should not be dragged to the
strife they seek to incite.
The national and Islamic battle the Palestinians should fight
is the one waged by the Resistance that retaliates for the enemy's
aggression, without caring about all its threats and daily
aggressions.
This should lead all those who are fighting the internal
battle, including some of the Mujahideen, to rise to the level of the
Palestinian cause which needs political and security planning to
continue the struggle and to promote the unity of the Jihadi unity.
They should also have mercy on their patient and steadfast people who
live under severe conditions of shelling, deprivation and hunger.
We say to the combatants that it is a grand treason, to fight
one another. They are destroying their internal front, while they
should fear Allah in their homeland and in all their people.
America generates wars around the world
The American President continues to threaten the Islamic
Republic of Iran, by war or by sanctions. The Group of Eight have also
threatened to impose severe sanctions if Iran does not stop the
enrichment, although the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the EU
could lead to positive results. Furthermore, the American
Administration knows that any war against Iran will devastate the
world economy, and might burn the entire region.
The peoples of the Muslim and Arab worlds cannot tolerate any
new war especially if it is a major war like the one that erupt
between Iran and the US. It is suffering from the American wars in
Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Sudan that had devastating effects on
the peoples and the infrastructure.
We call on the Arab and Muslim peoples to confront the
military policy of the American Administration that is being planned
by the Zionist – Christian neo-cons that are drowning the Muslim
worlds with crisis and wars.
We should read the goals of the American – Israeli military
manoeuvres, which was said to be in preparation for the joint
aggression against Iran, even it is were a psychological and political
war. We should also study the implications of providing Israel with
advanced American weapons as well as exporting weapons to American
allies in the region to be used in its wars in the region.
It is the American Administration that is waging several wars
in the word to put its hands on its resources. It is pressurizing the
EU states and even trying to create a new cold war. It is a movement
against world peace that aims at destroying the entire humanity.
Lebanon: Political stupidly:
The magnitude of the catastrophe that threatens Lebanon has
aggravated with the major battle the army is waging in the Al-Nahr Al-Barid.
Such a war may leave a negative impact on national unity and on the
state's very existence which is already shaking. In the meantime, we
find some officials acting as if this complicated war is merely a
limited clash with a certain terrorist groups.
The Lebanese crisis, meanwhile, continues to mark time, since
those who are under American pressure to refuse any solution are still
creating obstacles whenever a solution seems to be in sight. Such a
solution may pave the way for a national unity government that is
capable of solving the complicated problems the citizens are suffering
from.
Lebanon was supposed to be the country of intellectual
radiation, human freedom and religious coexistence, but the internal
and external games have changed it into a country of instinctual
darkness, in an environment of political stupidity, a moving anarchy
and complicated sectarianism. Those in charge are no longer able to
meet and talk which made foreign parties propose a meeting in their
countries.
They are looking up to the foreign and regional powers to
solve their political problem. But they do not seem to understand that
the foreign support does not give the state strength if it is empty
inside. It is the people's support and the political and economic
planning that build the country's strength and promote the unity of
the people. All sects should know that no sect, regardless of how big
in number, will not be able to rule the country by itself. The unity
and the welfare of the country cannot be established unless they are
based on citizenry which would also protect each sect and preserve its
particularities. The heads of the sects should rise to the level of
this fact that returns Lebanon into a country for all and not a front
that everybody wants to dominate.
Calling for unity:
Faced by this ugly crime that has been added to the series of
crimes that target Lebanon as a whole, and further destabilize it,
leaving it in the midst of the regional and international winds, we
call all Lebanese, the loyalists, and the opposition, as well as those
who are not in either group, to unite in confronting this killing so
as to produce a political state of unity, whether by forming a
national unity government, or other forums. Leaving the country in a
state of political instability, will enable all those who which to
further destabilize it to implement their plans and schemes.
Let us all act as guards to protect our political and
security situation so as to avoid further catastrophes and preserve
our unity and that of the country.
