The First Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful
The most perfect model
What is the image of the Muslim that in all
making the Muslim society that Allah wants. Allah has made sublime
morals, the heading of Islam in its entirety, since Islam in its
Sharia and in all its concepts is an ethical movement. This is what
the Messenger indicated when he said: verily I have been said to
complete the evaluation of morals. It is as if the Prophets'
movement and what Allah revealed through them is an ethical movement
providing each society with the morals it needs. This went on until
Allah sent Muhammad (p.) to complete the evaluations of morals.
Thus, Prophet Muhammad (p.) was the most perfect
model of morals which was embodied in his being, character and
dealing with people.
And that is why God tells him in the Glorious
Quran that his morals are sublime, and asks the nation to follow his
lead. He is the example and the model you ought to follow and learn
from how to deal with yourselves and with others.
Sublime manners:
The Messenger has explained what these sublime
manners are when he said that one should: "reach for those who
boycott him, give those who deny him and forgive those who wronged
him ".
Thus your actions should reflect your own
humanity; they should not be a reaction or compensation. Ethics is
not a kind of trade in which you only give those who give you or
forgive those who forgive you. They are based on humanitarian
foundations that treat all people in accordance to what it compels
you to do.
Imam Ja’far As-Sadiq (a.s) has talked about some
of the traits that Ahl el-Beit like to see in the believing Muslim,
being representative of sublime manners. He said: We love those who
are rational –rely on reason in all their thinking and dealings,
those who are not emotional, but are moved by their
minds-understanding-know what is going on around him, learned of the
issues of their religion, tolerant, towards all people even those
who harmed them, patient- in times of trouble so that they will not
fall down and stay composed and able to think of solutions –
truthful in their sayings, stands and actions, faithful, in that
they would fulfil their promises.
He added that Allah, the Most Excelled, has
favoured the Prophets with sublime morals. Those who possess them
should thank God, and those who do not should ask God, the Most
Excelled, to bestow the grace of giving them to the believers . It
is a grace that one should thank Allah for if he has it, but if he
does not, he should consider that he is tried by God, He should
start praying to God to save him and lead him to acquire these
morals.
According to Imam As-Sadiq (a.s) these morals
are: piety, content, patience, courage, zeal, generosity,
truthfulness, trustworthiness and charity.
Imam As-Sadiq (a.s) says: Allah has chosen Islam
as a religion for you, how do we then befriend this religion that
accompanies us until we meet God: Be a good companion of this
religion by generosity and good morals. He also said: "The Muslim
should have 8 traits: composed in times of trouble, patient in times
of calamites, thankful in times of prosperity, content in what Allah
has given him, does not deal unjustly with the enemy, is not biased
towards friends, his body is tired of him, as it has to obey God's
orders and do this responsibilities towards others, while the others
feel comfortable towards him .
He added: Knowledge is the companion of Muslims,
since it leads him to doing good just as a friend does, tolerance is
his right hand, since it helps him face all troubles, while the mind
is the head of his army, leniency is his brother, and doing good is
his father.
The Imam explained the meaning of the Ayah :And
as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and
forbids the soul from low desires, their abode will be the Garden,
by saying that he who knows that Allah sees him and hears what he
says and knows about every action he does whether good or bad, this
will deter him from doing any thing bad will dwell in heaven .
These are traits of our Imams (a.s), they are the
traits of the Messenger (p.) and the Quran. We have to acquire these
traits to be nearer to God and to live in our society in the way
that pleases Him.
The Second Sermon
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the
Merciful
The Islamic summit was held in Mecca, All
participating 57-states have emphasized the importance of Islamic
unity and the need to hold fast to Allah's rope, and reject the
miscreants' accusation of any Islamic sect of unbelief. They also
called for solving differences between Muslims in the way Allah has
called for by referring them to God and His Messenger. They also
vowed to fight all forms of terrorism and prohibiting the killing of
any peaceful civilian, whether Muslim or not.
As we emphasize the importance of the meeting and
the issues it dealt with, we would have liked the summit to have
touched on the issue of state terrorism represented by America’s
occupation of certain Muslim countries (Afghanistan and Iraq) where
it practices all sorts of terror as well the Israeli terror against
the Palestinians, which enjoys full American support, especially in
preventing the Palestinians from returning to their motherland in
accordance with UN resolutions 194 and 242. Moreover, America
remains politically silent towards the racial separating wall and
the major settlements, which appropriated a large part of the
Palestinian lands and turned the West Bank and Jerusalem into a big
prison.
We had hoped that the Islamic Summit could have
dealt in a frank and bold way with this Israeli wronging that is
supported by the Americans, so as to emphasize their firm stand with
the Palestinians, and not talk about the issue in a vague unfruitful
way. We had wished that the Summit announced its emancipation from
the American pressure that impels the Islamic countries to normalize
relations with Israel as a prelude to normalizing them with the US.
We also wished that the Summit had issued a
resolution telling the entire world not to remain passive against
targeting Islam as religion, and violating the image of Prophet
Muhammad in the name of freedom of the press, while at the same time
preventing any criticism to the Jews atrocities in Palestine, and to
their history and political behavior.
How do we preserve Islamic Unity?
We ask those in charge of the Summit: What does
Islam represent to their countries and peoples? How could they
become untied to protect Islam against any distortions or attacks?
Moreover, what is the role of the cultural,
political and social media in the struggle that is taking place in
this world, to the extent that certain major powers, are trying to
wage their political wars with the media that uses the most
sophisticated means and technologies? Why did not the Islamic
Conference Organization plan for a modern TV channel that broadcasts
in the most languages including French, English, Russian, Spanish
and others to ensure that the Islamic voice reaches these peoples,
and to clarify the civilized picture of Islam and defend its holy
personalities.
Moreover, it would highlight the Islamic
recognition of the other and its emphasis on dialogue including the
dialogue of civilizations which we appreciate the Summit’s emphasis
on.
The Islamic Summit was a big event in the issues
it dealt with and the resolutions it came up with, and we want it to
leave a positive impact on the inter-Muslim relations, as well as
the disturbing negative situations as a result of the immense
pressures and the great challenges the international arrogant poses,
that aims at exploiting its recourses and keep the Islamic nation,
which amounts to a quarter of the people of the world, on the
margin.
The Natanya Operation
In occupied Palestine, a new martyr operation was
initiated in Natanya by a militant Palestinian youth who has lived
the Israeli persecution to himself, his family and his country. He
turned himself into a bomb to attack the Israeli racial arrogance
that continues to kill the Palestinian people in cold blood, as well
as raiding the Palestinian towns and villages, appropriating
Palestinian lands and besieging their life.
The problem is that this arrogant world,
especially that Americans and Europeans, hastens to condemn and
accuse these operations of being terrorist without studying the
causes that lead Palestinians to such operations like the
assassination of a Palestinian militant the Israeli air force
executed last week, which led to the wounding of several Palestinian
civilians , without any condemnation from the Western states that
are not ready to tell the enemy that such aggressions will lead to
additional reactions, since the Palestinians are not ready to be hit
without a militant reaction.
We are aware of the difficult conditions the
Palestinian people are facing under occupation. We also know that he
will continue his struggle until independence, since no right is
lost as long as there are those who claim it, and since what is
taken by force will only be retrieved by force.
The Picture in Iraq
Iraq is living a catastrophe that is represented
by the victims that fall daily as a result of the black hatred of
the apostators that daily kills scores of women, children, elderly
and workers who are out to sustain a living for their families. In
addition, the occupation executes arbitrary attacks that entail
civilians and tortures prisoners.
And then there is the abduction of foreign
experts and journalists. Such actions are crimes against humanity,
especially when they are practiced by those who claim to be Islamic.
And consequently, we call for condemning these
abductions whose goal might be financial extortion.
We also call on the Iraqis to participate in the
parliamentary elections and chose the honest and the faithful to
Iraq Islam and Muslims, those who reject occupation and terrorism.
The results of these election will determine the
fate of Iraq as an independent and sovereign country; a
responsibility that everyone should bear.
Lebanon: Where in the country going?
As Lebanon is preoccupied with issues that have
to do with the past and not the present, it tends to neglect the
problem of economic hardship the poor in the country are suffering
from. In this respect, we notice the absence of any study that aims
to outline the way to deal with the economic crisis, especially that
the national debt will increase by two billion in the next annual
budget.
But in addition to the need to address the
economic problems, we should liberate the country from political
tutelage.
It is not enough to deny the presence of such
tutelage in the media, because the facts on the ground prove that it
is already reinstituting itself although through claims of advice,
sympathy and the like.
The problem with the political club in this
country is that is emphasizes its concern in everything except the
vital issues of economic hardship and hunger.
O, citizens I ask you: Where is the country
heading to? |
