| Fadlullah: Next Wednesday is the first of the month of Thil-Hijja, and Al-Adha Eid will be on 27/11 |
His Eminence, the Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, declared that Wednesday, the 18th of November, 2009 A.D. is the first of the month of Thil-Hijja and that Friday, the 27th of November, 2009 A.D. is the day of the blessed Al-Adha Eid.
Following is the text of his statement:
"Since the birth of the crescent of Thil-Hijja month is on Monday, the 16th of November, 2009 A.D. at fourteen minutes past 7 p.m UT., at a time the crescent could not be sighted in the parts of the world with which we share a part of the night, as the experts have asserted, then Tuesday is the last day of Thil-Kaada. Therefore, the first of Thil-Hijja is on Wednesday 18/11/2009 A.D. and the blessed Al-Adha Eid falls on 27/11/2009 A.D. May Allah return it upon the Muslims with the good, blessings, and dignity, and may He return it upon the Islamic countries with liberation and the defeat of the occupation, surely, Thou art the All-Hearing, Answering.
