|Fadlullah: The Arab Summit was nothing more than a media movement|
His Eminence, the Religious Authority Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received Hizbullah's Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Na'im Kassem, and they went through the developments in the region and the expectations of the next phase in the Arab-Arab and Arab-Islamic relations, in addition to the dangers that the Arab and Islamic reality is facing after the formation of the new Zionist government, and the expected results of the international-regional dialogue in both, the short and long terms.
His Eminence, Sayyed Fadlullah, noted that the danger expected from the coming Zionist government does not only lie in its fanaticism and the extremism of its members, but also in its security and political members, who seek to change the reality in the region and the neighborhood by waging more wars and creating additional tensions, and in the conviction of the Israeli right that it has the solutions for the Israeli security and political deadlock that has aggravated since the July war up till the last aggression on Gaza and that the road to the so-called peace can not be paved but through war that returns to the enemy's entity its standing and restraining power… So the Arabs and Muslims, especially the Lebanese and Palestinians, should be cautious and work on fortifying their internal arena on both: the security and political levels to face the plots of the enemy.
His Eminence emphasized that the Arabs should benefit from their experiences with the enemy and work to solidify the relations among themselves and with their Islamic neighborhood, in order to face political and security storms afflicted by the enemy, pointing out that there is a favorable opportunity to develop and enhance Arab-Arab relations and Arab-Islamic relations, despite that certain parties are seeking to complicate them, in order to keep reconciliations at the political surface and prevent them from deepening and thus, enabling everyone to run the disputes in a way that takes the interests of the nation into consideration.
His Eminence said that the Arab Summit was just a media and political show that sought to alleviate the repercussions of the international and regional situations on certain axes. Thus, several files the Summit has raised will remain within the sphere of media circulation without having any effect on the general political course.
